Destiny 2 on Game Pass will include all standard edition expansions, including the upcoming Beyond Light.

Microsoft announced at the big Xbox Games Showcase today that Destiny 2 is coming to Xbox Game Pass in September. Xbox Game Pass subscribers will have full access to all current Destiny 2 standard edition content, including the standard edition of the upcoming Destiny 2: Beyond Light expansion.

Destiny general manager Mark Noseworthy took to Twitter to clarify that players will still have to purchase seasonal content, like Season of Arrivals, separately if they want it. But it does include all previous expansions, plus Beyond Light when it goes live on November 10, and that's an awful lot of Destiny 2 to play around with in its own right.

Speaking of Destiny 2: Beyond Light, Bungie dropped a new trailer at today's Xbox Games Showcase revealing Stasis, an icy element that will let players freeze and shatter enemies, and also create new platforms on existing structures. 

Bungie recently delayed its Beyond Light expansion to November 10th, after it was originally scheduled to launch on September 22nd. Bungie cited difficulties of development during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Beyond Light will include a new element called stasis for Destiny 2 players. Stasis is based on manipulating time, and the major expansion will be set on the icy moon of Jupiter, Europa.

The standard editions of Destiny 2 DLCs will all be available, with Destiny 2’s season pass sold separately. Bungie’s launch of Destiny 2 into Xbox Game Pass will initially be limited to the console version of the subscription, but Microsoft says it’s working to bring this to the PC subscription “later in 2021.”
